Meet our Team of Professionals
Mike moved to the Daytona Beach area in 2005 and has been the head PGA Professional at the Spruce Creek Country Club after spending seven years as the Head Professional in the Cayman Islands.
Mike has also been the Director of Golf at the Loxahatchee Club in Palm Beach and the Saint Andrews Golf Club in New York. Before that Mike was an assistant PGA professional at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, host of the annual Memorial Tournament on the PGA Tour.
While at Muirfield Village, Mike got to play many rounds with arguably the best golfer to play the game, Jack Nicklaus. Mike also to learned a few things from Jack Grout, Nicklaus’ legendary teacher.
Sam is a Daytona Beach native, born and raised. He started to play golf at age five influenced by his grandparents who were members of nearby clubs. Sam seriously took up the game at age 11 and started to play in the Volusia/Flagler Junior Golf Association (VFJGA) up until he was an adult winning multiple tournaments.
While learning the game, Sam took instruction as a Junior golfer from Golf Digest’s Top 25 teacher Craig Shankland. After the VFJGA, Sam played Varsity golf for Atlantic High School in Port Orange, FL.
After taking a small hiatus from the game, Sam joined Mike at Spruce Creek Country Club as the Assistant Golf Professional in 2007, then becoming a PGA apprentice after passing the Playing Ability Test in 2009. Sam continues to share his passion of the game to golfers of all ages and skill levels. He is a certified Fitting Specialist for Callaway Golf.
